eltic tattoo letters beautifully illustrated by Bucks County Celtic artist Bernadette McBride. Ornamental Celtic letters are found in ancient scriptures such as the Book of Kells, the Book of Durrow and the Lindisfarne Gospels. The letters for these tattoos are based on the Celtic alphabet of the 4th to 6th century AD. Some of the letters are upper case and some are lower case. The Celtic alphabet from that time did not have an upper and lower case for each letter like the English alphabet that we know today.
