What does it mean to be the salt of the earth?

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. (Colossians 3:6)

When men are called unto mine everlasting gospel, and covenant with an everlasting covenant, they are accounted as the salt of the earth and the savor of men. (Modern Revelation, p. 197)

The tree closest to the shore makes the clearest reflection on the water.

The sunflower is such a good example, because it always looks to the sun. (Son)

Example for Parents

Teaching children is like the parable of the leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. (Luke 13:21)

Will bread rise if we dont leaven it? The leavening is the power placed within the bread itself that causes it to rise. No more, no less.

You can place that lump of dough in the center of your kitchen and tap your foot waiting for something to happen. You can yell at it. You can nag it. You can criticize it for not living up to your expectations. No matter what you think of that bread, it is now its own self, and its going to rise in its own way, and not till its ready. You may worry, but if you have obeyed the instructions, it will turn out all right. In fact, it will probably be wonderful and make a lot of people very happy.

Making bread is a labor of love. And so is teaching children.

By their fruits. . .
And again, I will give unto you a pattern in all things, that ye may not be deceived; for Satan is abroad in the land, and he goeth forth deceiving the nations Wherefore he that prayeth, whose spirit is contrite, the same is accepted of me if he obey. . .

And again, he that is overcome and bringeth not forth fruits, even according to this pattern, is not of me. Wherefore, by this pattern ye shall know.(Ibid., p. 96)
