Boys adventure ISLE OF THE LAKE 1903 paper
The Isle of the Lake _____This soft cover adventure book for boys was written in 1902 by Willard Goss. It is about a group of boys who become stranded on an island in Lake Superior.
Mr. Goss writes --
"My Dear Boys: To write the following pages for your entertainment has been a recreation for me. It has occupied my vacation hours; but my purpose has been not only to entertain but to help you to unselfish and noble endeavors by relating the adventures of certain youths who met their difficulties and dangers in a generous, manly and brave spirit."
The publisher is David C. Cook Publishing Co., Elgin, Ill, 1903. The print is small. The cover has pulled from the staples and the edges and corners are worn. Back cover has some folded corners and slight stains. The center page has loosened from one of the staples. There is an inscription on the inside front cover. The book is otherwise in very good condition.
