Andrew Lang Readers, Green Series Book 1 _____ This reader contains eleven stories based on the tales in the Fairy Books edited by Andrew Lang. It was published by Longmans, Green and Co., 1928 (reprinted from the 1925 edition). _____ Stories included are: Habogi, The Wonderful Birch (from the Russo-Karelian); Minnikin (from J. Moe); The White Dove; The Flying Ship; the Six Swans; The Bushy Bride (from J. Moe); Bobino; the Enchanted Wreath (from Thorpe's Yuletide Stories); the Flower Queen's Daughter; and The Magician's Gifts. _____ Designed for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Ex-library. There is a colored frontispiece, and illustrations in black and white. The horse in the frontispiece has been traced on with a pencil, to the other side. There is also a tear 2-1/2" from the top. The spine has separation of 1" each along bottom front and top back, and is discolored. There are tears at the bottom of a number of pages.
