Religious Reading

The tragic telling of the story of the first time Christians were sent to the lions in the amphitheatre of Rome. It describes the Christians as they wait below the arena, dressed in animal skins, and the crazed madness of Nero and the other Roman senators.

The one thing the blood thirsty Romans never expected was to hear calm, peaceful singing from their new victims. The songs of praise to God unnerved the riotous crowd and prompted them to complete silence. Never before had vicitms sung in a Roman arena. It was the "new song" of praise to the one true God.
