In 1941, America faced one of the greatest tests a nation can face: WAR. Roosevelt was the man for the hour. His radio talks with the American people inspired a generation to victory. In this speech he appeals to the American people to remember what the father of our country, George Washington said concerning America. "The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered..." The speech ends, "As Americans, we go forward, in the service of our country, by the will of God.
