Religious Reading - The Drought
by Sheri Chavers
Sally Whitson lives on a farm with her father and brother. They are going through a terrible drought and things are not looking good. Sall is a Christian, but her father is not, and she realizes that she needs to pray for her father's salvation even more than she needs to pray for rain. Her father comes in the house dicouraged, and she takes the opportunity to gently witness to him, and reminds him of her mother's faith when she was alive. Her father leaves, quite upset, and soon, a dust storm begins. Her brother makes it to the house, but her father is nowhere to be found. Soon, they begin to search for him, and they find him at the graveside of their mother, praying to God for forgiveness. As the three kneel down together to rejoice, they hear thunder, and they see "showers of blessing" begin to fall. Great for female performer.
