Duet Acting - Anastasia Meets the Empress

Princess Anastasia, daughter of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, was supposedly massacred with the rest of her family by the revolutionists in 1918. However, a woman named Anna Broun is rescued from a canal in Berlin, and is believed to be Princess Anastasia. In this scene, Anastasia faces her hardest test, when she is introduced to the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna. The two have a long encounter, filled with emotional turmoil. Anastasia, desperate to be recognized by her Grandmama; and the Empress, wary of an imposter trying to take advantage of her fortune. An emotional scene between a young, lost girl, and an old broken grandmother. A real winner of a piece, with which everyone in the audience will identify. Russian accent can be added for difficulty.
