Mysterious and haunting, this poem tells the story of a young Italian girl, full of life and vitality, who falls in love with her childhood sweetheart. The wedding is planned, and everyone is thrilled! The ceremony is beautiful, and the celebration afterwards is full of mirth. Being playful and full of fun, Ginevra decides to play a simple game of hide and seek with her beloved. Unfortunately, she chooses a forgotten place, and hides herself in a small, antique trunk, which soon becomes her grave!!
Beautifully worded with elevated, challenging language, this peice is a winner in every sense of the word. It has been very successful at a several competitions, but is not very well known. It is happy in the beginning, and terribly tragic at the end. You'll have the audience on the edge of their seats!!
