Religious Reading

Set during the early 1900's, a poor and hungry boy goes to school without having had breakfast. In desperation for food, he steals someone's lunch. The teacher finds out, and, in an effort to be consistent, decides the boy must be punished with a whipping. Without his large coat, the teacher and students see how skinny and weak the boy is. Suddenly, the biggest boy in the class volunteers to take the whipping for the boy.
