The friendship between an American missionary and an Indian pearl diver has lasted for many years. The missionary has witnessed to the pearl diver many times, but the old man cannot accept a "free" salvation. The old Indian tells the missionary that he plans to make his pilgrimage in a few weeks. His plans are to go to Delhi walking on his knees. Before he leaves, knowing he will never return, the pearl diver gives the missionary his most precious possession, as a token of the love he bares for him. It is a huge and flawless pearl, found by the Indian's only son, who died finding it. The missionary takes this last opportunity, and using the the Indian's own words and experience, wins the man to Christ.
