Consider adding supplements that also have been shown to lower blood pressure such as:
- the herbs garlic (Allium sativum, 1 to 2 cloves or 300 to 600 mg in supplement form);
- hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha, 100 to 250 mg of a standardized extract);
- coenzyme Q10 (180 to 360 mg);
- omega-3 essential fatty acids (5 to 10 capsules of fish oil, 1 to 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil, or ¼ cup of freshly ground flax seed).
