Bromelain is a protein digesting enzyme naturally present in pineapple sap and stem. Bromelain is classified as a proteolytic enzyme because of its ability to digest proteins. Bromelain affects protein turnover in the body, including proteins found in joint tissue. This may account for its anti-inflammatory effect.

Bromelain can also enhance absorption of nutrients such as glucosamines, sulfur and bioflavonoids.

Each tablet contains:

Bromelain (2,000 GDU/gm) 500 mg providing 1,000 GDU (Gelatin Digesting Units) per tablet or 1,667 MCU (Milk Clotting Units).

Other ingredients: calcium phosphate, stearic acid, cellulose and magnesium stearate. Contains no common allergen. Jarrow Formulas’ Bromelain contents are pure and accurately disclosed.
