    This of course is what you want to tell your visitor about your company - who you are, where you're located, how to contact you, your company's history, your staff, the products and services you offer, etc. You may want to include articles or press releases about your company. If you have products for sale on your site, you will need to provide a product list, pictures of your products, and an order form.

    You may even want to include additional pages with information on related products, questions and answers, or links to other sites. The decision is yours. The number of pages on your site and the type of information is up to you, but your content should be of value to your visitor, relevant, and kept up-to-date. This will encourage people to keep coming back to your site.

    Organization
    The layout of your website is very important. The information presented should flow naturally and logically from page to page. Your visitors should be able to navigate easily from one place in your web site to another, and return back to where they started, if they so desire. Information should be easy to find. Your visitors should be able to tell by your page headings what kind of information they will find on that page.

    If your visitors are confused about where they are, or how to get where they want to go, they'll probably leave, and they won't be back.

    Navigation/Links
    People love to find things to click on.  And links can also be a great convenience. Besides the primary links to your pages, which are essential, you can also provide links within a page that link to other locations within that page or to other web pages within your site.

    If your visitor is at the bottom of the Our Products page, and you tell him "If you have any questions, please contact us."- you can provide him with a link right there that will take him to an e-mail form, so he can ask that question. That e-mail form is also a kind of link, which let's your visitors ask questions, or make comments while they're still fresh in their minds.

    There is such a thing as too many links however. You don't want your visitor continually jumping all over the place so he never gets your message.

    Hyperlinks to other websites can also be useful, as well as a convenience to your visitor, but these links should be relevant to the information on your site. Remember, once your visitor clicks off into cyberspace, he's probably gone, and may not be able to easily get back to you.

    Appropriateness
    They say presentation is everything.

    What kind of image do you want to project? Your home page, and to a lesser extent, the pages that follow, are the first impression you present of your company.

    Your site should be attractive, but professional looking. The use of color and images in your site add interest and appeal, but everything needs to complement each other and work together. Too many images and colors can make the site look too busy, cluttered, and unappealing. Also the images you use and the links you use should be relevant to your site. The purpose of your web site is to tell your visitor about your company, or sell your product, not to distract him.
