Medicine Wind is a work of love, a part of my spiritual journey. It began 54 years ago, long before the age of computers and the internet, and has consisted of many twists and turns with numerous lessons along the way. Not all of those lessons have been pleasant but they are mine and I own them. Life is a classroom and we all have our own unique lessons to learn. There are many things we have to learn in a lifetime so we are all given a unique set of circumstances which are designed to help us with the lessons of here and now. If we do not learn those lessons we don't move on but instead get to come back and do them again. Like any thinking person there are some things I don't want to have to do again and for that reason, I embrace those unpleasant lessons right along with the pleasant ones. That is not to say that I enjoyed them but I emphatically claim them.

I started Medicine Wind like many other internet businesses by attending a seminar. I had no idea what I would like to sell but I viewed the internet as a means to become financially independent. I heard, somewhere along the way, that if you are working for someone else you don't have time to make any money for yourself. I believe that! While I don't have visions of unimaginable wealth, I would like to be able to live comfortably without living payday to payday. Still, I had no idea what to put on my store. That was answered when it was suggested to me to do what I love. Hence, Medicine Wind was born.

I was once asked if I believe in God. I do believe in God and I know there is only one God. However, I believe that God wears many faces. Whatever our spiritual beliefs are, we believe in them because they make it easier for us to deal with life. Buddist, Christian, Jewish, Moslum or any other belief it makes no difference. It's all the same God! I call my God the Great Spirit. I refer to him as Father or Creator and I pray to him daily. I also give thanks to the Spirit Keepers of the four directions who I call Waboose, Wabun, Shawnodese and Mudjekeewis but who are also known to me as the Christian Archangles Michael, Gabrial, Rafeal and Aurial. I worship all of creation including the plant kingdom and the mineral kingdom and the animal kingdom. I speak to the four leggeds and the trees and the rocks. I give thanks to father sun and mother earth and grandmother moon for the gifts they give. These are the things that work for me and the way I choose to see the God of my understanding.

This is what I love, which is best summed up in my mind as Native American Spirituality. I am a child on this "good red path" and like a child, I thirst for knowledge. I have a long way to go but every journey begins with a single step. It is my hope, that by making the items found here at Medicine Wind available to all peoples that perhaps I can plant a seed of curiosity. Maybe by making these items more readily available others will take that first step on this path. Maybe if we can all speak to and listen to those of all the kingdoms we can come closer to God, whatever face he shows us.
