PRODUCT INFORMATION

All of our pine furniture is solid pine or oak; we do not use any hardboard for drawer bases or backs of drawers. Corners of drawers are dovetailed for extra strength, ensuring a quality product. All of our furniture is ready built, i.e. not flat pack. Large dining tables, beds and wardrobes, may be broken down somewhat, to enable them to be assembled within your home. For more details on how individual pieces break down feel free to contact us.01234-240204

MAINTANANCE
To look after you hand waxed or oiled furniture; it should initially be polished or oiled as regularly as possible. After this initial stage it may only need polishing three or four times a year. Remember that the more time and care you take to look after your furniture, the better it will look.

MELLOW-YELLOW This wax is completely clear and is used if you want to achieve a light finish. This is also our maintenance wax, which can be applied to condition the wood on a finished piece of furniture without adding any color. Maintenance of pine and oak is essential to prevent the wood drying out and cracking.

STRIPPED PINE - This is our most popular color and is the finish that we use.
It will give the furniture a medium brown color, however this can be darkened by more than one application.
What must be remembered at this stage, is that pine or oak will darken with age so it is important not to darken the furniture too much.

RUGGER BROWN- This polish is a very dark brown and can look more like a dark oak once applied. Apply the polish one panel at a time i.e. one side of a chest at a time this is because the polish can dry very quickly. Wipe the polish on with soft polishing rag (mutton cloth is very good) and work the polish into the grain. Afterwards use a clean piece of rag and wipe off any excess polish. Ensure that you go with the grain of the wood when polishing- this results in a more professional finish. When polishing the harder areas (corners and over beading) it is a good idea to use a brush, ideally a sash brush. This enables you to get to the difficult corners and results in a nicer finish. When polishing a good idea is to polish under the drawer runners this helps the drawers run smoothly.
On completion of polishing, leave the piece for ten minutes to dry thoroughly. Left as it is, the piece will have a dull finish; however if you prefer a shine use a clean rag to buff up.
If you make a mistake with the polishing, you can remove it with white spirit on a rag. Alternatively if you decide you do not want the high shine finish you have produced, just rub on a small amount of white spirit and the furniture will go back to being dull.
DANISH OIL is another good way of looking after your oak and pine furniture it is also the easiest to use just put a small amount onto a soft rag and just wipe into the furniture .The only down side to this is it takes a few hours to dry and it also smells a little ,but the finish is excelent this is also good for helping water proof table tops.
