About Us & Our Seminars

Pinecrest Learning Center & School was established in 1987 specializing in helping individuals with Dyslexia, ADD & ADHD. As a Dyslexic, I understand the challenges and frustrations of being Right brain dominate. I also know the ability and talent we have. Despite my (disability), I was able to struggle through school and go to college where I graduated with honors from Michigan State University, with a B.S. degree in Education(Human Ecology and Psychology). I found college easier than High School. Now I know that colleges often teach more to the right brain. Later I went on to Eastern Michigan University and received my M.A. in Educational Leadership. I often wondered why High Schools didn't teach like colleges. When my own children struggled in school, I knew it was time to develop learning styles that would create success for these individuals. Over the years, I have successfully taught students with methods that helped them succeed in school and many times go on to college. Now my goal is to help others learn how to help or teach individuals who are right brain dominate succeed and accomplish their goals through my seminars.
We offer 6 & 8 hour Seminars or we customize the hours to meet your needs. All seminars include materials and in some areas our seminars qualify for CEUs for teachers. call or email Our Office With Your Requests!

My mission is to provide students with an educational experience which teaches the “whole child” and to prepare the student psychologically, socially and philosophically to meet the world and become productive citizens. My goal is to accomplish this though an innovative individualized curriculum with three elements: academics, “creative” courses and socialization activities. The specific goals to which all activities and relationships were directed are responsibility, respect, resourcefulness and responsiveness. These skills, I believed, would prepare the students for a meaningful life and desire for life long learning.
