PWG Parental Weather Guidance Suggested. Some elements of this weather may not be suitable for children. This signifies that the weather rated may contain some elements parents might not like to expose to their young children - elements that will clearly need to be examined or inquired about before children are allowed to attend this weather. Explicit weather scenes and scenes of weather damage are absent; weather destruction, if present, is seen only briefly, weather violence does not exceed moderate levels.

PWG-13 Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some element may be inappropriate for children under 13. This signifies that the weather rated may be inappropriate for pre-teens. Parents should be especially careful about letting their younger children be exposed to this weather. Rough or persistent violent weather is absent; weather-oriented graphics are generally absent; some scenes of harsh weather may be seen; one use of harsh weather derived words may be heard.

RW Restricted-Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (age varies in some locations). This signifies that the rating board has concluded that the weather rated contains some adult elements. Parents are urged to learn more about the weather before taking their children to see it. An RW may be assigned due to, among other things, use of weather language, theme, violent weather or its portrayal.

WNC-17 No One 17 and Under Permitted to this Weather. This signifies the weather board believes most American parents would feel the weather is patently adult and children age 17 and under should not be exposed to it. The weather may contain explicit weather, an accumulation of weather-oriented language, or scenes of excessively violent weather. The NC-17 designation does not, however, signify the rated weather is obscene or extremely nasty, but you should be very, very careful.
